📅 Date: 18 August 2018, Saturday

⌚ Start time: 19:30

📌 Place: Warsaw - Śródmieście dist., ul. Okólnik 2, Uniwersytet Muzyczny Fryderyka Chopina (show on the map)
THE RHYTHM OF THE WORLD – W ramach koncertu studenci klasy perkusji Uniwersytetu Muzycznego Fryderyka Chopina wspólnie z dr Miłoszem Pękalą zaprezentują program łączący tradycję perkusyjną Afryki, Brazylii, Japonii, Hiszpanii i Tajlandii ze współczesnym postrzeganiem instrumentów perkusyjnych i muzyki etnicznej. Prezentowany program powstał w efekcie dwuletnich badań nad muzyką etniczną Afryki i Brazylii, prowadzonych przy współudziale wybitnych specjalistów: Kuby Pogorzelskiego (muzyka afrykańska) i Rafała Krzanowskiego (brazylijska batucada).

THE RHYTHM OF THE WORLD – As part of the concert, percussion students of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music together with dr Miłosz Pękala will present a programme combining percussion traditions of Africa, Brazil, Japan, Spain and Thailand with the modern-day type of perception of percussion instruments and ethnic music. The element joining the past with the present, remote regions of the world and different kinds of aesthetics is… the eternally living Rhythm, the pulse of music made by people searching for joy, fun, inspiration or fulfilment. The FCUM percussion class focuses the best young percussionists, not only from Poland. The young musicians know how to instil their energy and enthusiasm in any sceptic associating percussion merely with accompaniment. Their professionalism and devotion ensure great and acclaimed performances. The presented programme has been created as a result of two years of studies on ethnic music of Africa and Brazil conducted along with outstanding specialists: Kuba Pogorzelski (African music) and Rafał Krzanowski (Brazilian batucada). An addition to the presented programme will be an on-stage presentation of the collection of percussion instruments from around the world whose tone qualities will satisfy the tastes of the strictest connoisseurs of new experiences. The performers’ vividness and virtuosity turn concerts into real percussion shows.
