Uzasadnienie realizacji projektu:

***
We welcome all beginners and pros to the second meeting of Knitting against capitalism!
This time we're going to begin with a screening of 'Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist'
Knitting is also going to be accompanied by break a leg dj

Why are we organising this project:
Fast fashion is responsible for 10% of yearly, global CO2 emissions.
Aside from polluting the climate fashion industry is known to hire children from 5 years old in order to produce the clothes and textiles. The average workday can last even 20 hours and the wages are as bad as 10 GBP per calendar month what gives the workers zero perspectives for their life standard improvement. When the factory worker falls ill, he is very likely to be fired as his production performance isn’t as fast as required by his European/American CEO. What happens to him afterwards, nobody knows.
Such destructive actions are performed by companies such as Reserved, Cropp, House, H&M, Topshop, New Look, Zara, Massimo Dutti, Nike, Reebok and many others, so moreless everything we can buy in Polish shopping centres.
By knitting together we can prove ourselves we don’t have to be dependent on consumerism and get to know each other.
