Chciałem móc zwiedzić świat podwodny, zanim zamieni się w plastikowy koszmar z foliową roślinnością i rafami z pcw.
„Dwadzieścia tysięcy mil podmorskiej żeglugi” Jules’a Verne, filmy Jacques’a Cousteau, „Mały Nemo” czy wreszcie „Błękitna planeta” Davida Attenborough fascynują mnie bardziej niż „Księga dżungli”.
Żeby uciec od ponurej rzeczywistości postanowiłem zejść pod powierzchnię, licząc na to, że w otchłani wodnej znajdę rzeczy, które nie tylko odwrócą moją uwagę ale być może zawładną moją wyobraźnią. Jak na kogoś kto do tej pory zajmował się głównie ptactwem (i Pokractwem) oraz rozmaitą zwierzyną imaginacyjną, wyobraźnię ichtiologiczną miałem dość słabo rozwiniętą.
Szybko okazało się, że nie mogłem być przygotowany na to co mnie w otchłani wody może spotkać. Najpierw oczywiście rozpoznawałem te rzeczy, które znałem lub kiedyś widziałem. Potem pojawiały się stwory coraz mniej znane, nigdy przedtem nie widziane, wreszcie te, w których istnienie dotąd nie mogę uwierzyć. Takie kreacje natury poznikały z powierzchni ziemi dawno temu, a w podwodnych przestworzach nadal świetnie się mają.
Zaprezentowane tutaj prace są katalogiem tego co tam ujrzałem jak również tego co mi się zdaje, że zobaczyłem.
Podobno Bóg, podczas procesu tworzenia, miał obsesję recyklingu. Po uporaniu się z głównymi aktorami świata przyrody, z walających się resztek; łusek, piór i kawałków futerka, a także z troski, żeby się nic nie zmarnowało, posklecał różne mniej lub bardziej ekscentryczne stworki.
Choć daleki jestem od nasuwającego się porównania to muszę przyznać, że sama metoda bardzo mnie zainspirowała.

I wish I could visit the underwater world before it turns into a plastic nightmare with foil vegetation and PVC reefs.
"Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" by Jules Verne, the films of Jacques' Cousteau, "Little Nemo" or finally "The Blue Planet" by David Attenborough fascinates me far more than the "Jungle Book".
In order to escape the gloomy reality, I decided to descent under the surface, hoping that in the vastness of the waters I would find things that would not only distract my attention but would perhaps overwhelm my imagination. For someone who until recently has been dealing mainly with the Kingdom of birds (and Pokrakdom) as well as with a variety of imaginary animals for personal amusement my ichthyologic imagination was quite underdeveloped.
Soon enough it turned out that there was no way to prepare me for what could lurk in the abyss. At first, of course, I recognized those things that I already knew or have seen in the past. Then came the creatures less and less familiar, never seen before, and finally those in whose existence I still can’t believe. Such creations of nature have disappeared from the face of the earth a long time ago, but in the underwater expanse they’re still doing very well.
The works presented here are a catalog of what I saw there as well as what I think I saw.
It is said that God during the Creation was quite obsessed with recycling. After He was done with the major actors of the natural world, out of concern that nothing be wasted, picked up the remnants of various materials; leather, scales, feathers and furs and put together a number of more or less eccentric creatures.
Although I am far from any nagging comparison, I must admit that the method itself inspired me a lot.
