The Rafal Lemkin International Law Society is very pleased to invite you to the first meeting „How did genocide become a crime? The legacy of Rafał Lemkin”.

Professor Lemkin was the first who defined the crime of genocide. He was also the main character in the creation of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

The subject will be present by Patrycja Grzebyk, Ph. D., a lecturer at the Institute of the International Relations at the University of Warsaw. She is also a coordinator at the Network on the Humanitarian Action at the University of Warsaw. She specializes in the International Criminal Law, Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. Dr. Grzebyk has also translated works of Professor Lemkin.

The event will be held fully in English.
