Performance:
"Noor", czyli "światło", to audiowizualny performans autorstwa irańskich artystów: Sepersa i Owrang. Występ opowiada historię Khodanoora Lajei, protestującego irańczyka z Zahedanu, zabitego podczas masakry w Zahedanie w 2022 roku podczas demonstracji przeciwko Islamskiej Republice.
Kilka dni po jego śmierci do sieci trafiło uderzające zdjęcie, przedstawiające Khodanoora z rękami przywiązanymi do masztu, tuż poza zasięgiem umożliwiającym dostęp do butelki wody. Obraz ten stał się symbolem trwających w Iranie protestów.
Po jego śmierci pojawiła się seria filmów pokazujących inną stronę życia Khodanoora, w przeciwieństwie do torturowanego ciała, pokazując jego radosny taniec. Filmy te podkreślały ekspresję życia poprzez ruch i oferowały nowe spojrzenie na to, jak Islamska Republika tłumi życie, podczas gdy ciała deformują się w wyniku ucisku.

Współpracował z cenionymi wystawami, galeriami sztuki i znanymi festiwalami muzycznymi.

about the peformance:
"Noor," meaning "light," is an audiovisual performance by Sepersa and Owrang. It narrates the story of Khodanoor Lajei, an Iranian protester from Zahedan, killed during the 2022 Zahedan massacre while demonstrating against the Islamic Republic.
A few days after his death, a striking image of him went viral, showing Khodanoor with his hands tied to a flagpole, just out of reach of a bottle of water. This image has become a symbol of the ongoing protests in Iran.
Following his death, a series of videos surfaced showing a different side of Khodanoor’s life, in contrast to the tortured body, showing dancing with joy. These videos highlighted the expression of life through movement and offered a new perspective on how the Islamic Republic suppresses life, while the bodies deform through oppression.
"Noor" is an artistic response to this brutality, using music and dance as a means of protest against tyranny. an attempt to celebrate the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
Sepersa: Warsaw-based, Iranian new media artist and sound designer. He began his artistic journey by crafting musical pieces for theaters and indie films. Later on, his focus shifted to sound design, installations, and performance art. He drew inspiration from political art and post-humanist thoughts, infusing his creations with technology. He has collaborated with esteemed exhibitions, art galleries, and prominent music festivals.
