We will discuss Greek/Armenian spiritual teacher George Gurdjieff teachings that were presented by the Russian philosopher Ouspensky in the book "In Search of Miraculous" (link.
Two weeks ago we discussed his main theme of teaching - that men are machines.
In this meeting we will discuss his approach to how to be master of oneself. Gurdjieff claims that this should be the main goal of the work as being master of oneself allows to deal with other, more difficult goals.
To be discussed in the meeting:
- Metaphore of carriage (body), horse (emotional center), driver (mind) and master (ego). Shafts between them.
- Self-observation - Recording
- Self-observation - Analysis
