Wystawa To mimo wszytko jest życie stanowi próbę odnalezienia odpowiedzi na pytanie o rolę pamięci w odniesieniu do własnej tożsamości. Z tej okazji, swoje najnowsze prace pokażą dwie artystki – Agnieszka Kalinowska ( 1971, pracuje i mieszka w Warszawie) oraz Irmgard Schaumberger (1960, pracuje i mieszka w Gaggererbergu). Przestrzeń galerii i symboliczne znaczenie historyczne budynku Austriackiego Forum Kultury, stojącego w miejscu dawnego Getta Żydowskiego spełnia tutaj szczególną rolę i staje się inspiracją dla artystek. Duże okna Forum, zasłonięte jedną z prac staną się miejscem interakcji z przypadkowymi przechodniami. Wewnątrz galerii pokazane zostaną natomiast obiekty ceramiczne, instalacje oraz prace wideo. Specyficzny dialog, jaki buduje się między głosami dwóch artystek stanowi formę egzystencjonalnych rozważań i jest niepokojąco piękną refleksją nad ludzkim losem, utratą domu, dobrobytu czy śmiercią.

Dealing with the concept of identification through vessels of memory It is a life anyway brings together recent works by the two artists Agnieszka Kalinowszka (* 1971, lives in Warsaw, PL) and Irmgard Schaumberger (* 1960, lives in Gaggererberg, A). The show uses the aesthetics of the space and the historically challenged location of the Austrian Cultural Forum at the entrance of the former Jewish Ghetto as a nutshell. Addressing passer-byes directly through sentences on its huge windows, the public will be confronted with two films and three dimensional works in ceramics and string when venturing in. The specific dialogue between the two positions slowly unravels as an existential and disturbingly beautiful reflection about the fate of losing one´s basis of living, one’s home and one´s existence.
As a topical resonance on the show Dizziness, Navigating the Unknown (Ujasdowski Center for Contemporary Art from Sep 15, 2017) the works in film, ceramics, paper string and language show themselves as potent carriers of tangible and intangible memory and relate to questions of fate and responsibility, and to a strong human urge towards stability, wholeness and belonging.
