Wykorzystując materiały archiwalne i rozmowy z działaczkami opozycji przedstawia alternatywną dla powszechnie znanej wizję przemian społecznych w okresie PRL, wskazując na kobiety jako ważne podmioty inicjujące kluczowe wydarzenia historyczne (strajk w Stoczni Gdańskiej) i kształtujące rozmaite wizje przyszłości Polski, także po upadku socjalizmu. Podczas dyskusji panelowej, na którą zapraszamy po projekcji filmu zastanowimy się nad wartością dokumentu jako pomostu pomiędzy przeszłością i teraźniejszością, spróbujemy odpowiedzieć na pytanie o to w jaki sposób przynależność pokoleniowa wpływa na postrzeganie historii kobiet w Solidarności, a także na ile dłuższa perspektywa historyczna umożliwia nowe konceptualizacje przeszłości związanej z PRL oraz zmianą systemową lat 90. This meeting is devoted to the full length documentary film by Marta Dzido and Piotr Śliwowski „Solidarność według kobiet” [„Solidartiy According to Women”]. The documentary follows the history of women's engagement in opposition movements during the times of Polish People's Republic (1945-1989). Utilizing the archival material and interviews with women active in the opposition moments, it presents an alternative historical narrative, highlighting the role of women in initiating and shaping the fundamental transformation's in Poland's recent past. During the discussion that will follow the screening of the film, we will tackle issues related to the ways in which past and present intersect in the documentary. We will ask how the generational differences impact the visions of women's agency, the ways of narrating the Solidarity's past and, more broadly, conceptualizations of history of socialist past and the transformation of 1989. The panel discussion will moderated by Agnieszka Grzybek. Panel participants include: Alina Cała, Kinga Dunin, Marta Dzido and Piotr Śliwowski.
The film will be screened with English subtitles. The discussion language will be English (with the Polish translation).
