Homonacjonalizm i islamofobia (pierwsze spotkanie z cyklu “Języki oporu”)

Podczas pierwszego spotkania z cyklu “Języki oporu” przyjrzymy się splotom rasy, seksualności, nacjonalizmu i mechanizmom wikłania nienormatywnych seksualności w projekty budowy narodu i produkcji patriotycznych, jak i “terrorystycznych” podmiotowości i cielesności. Spotkanie będzie wprowadzeniem do queerowej krytyki białej dominacji i lokalnych przejawów globalnych sił kontrterroryzmu i nacjonalizmu.

“Terrorist Assemblages: Homonacjonalizm w czasach queer”.

Homonationalism and Islamophobia (the first meeting from the series “languages of resistance”)

During the first meeting of the series, “Langauges of Resistance” we will look at the intersections of race, sexuality, nationalism and how non-normative sexualities are entangled in nation building and the production of patriotic and terrorist subjects and corporealities. The meeting will be an introduction to a queer critique to the „ascendancy of whitness” and local manifestations of the global forces of counterterrorism and nationalism.

We will discuss the notions of pink washing, nationalism, race, gender in relation to islamophobia and wrong accusations of terrorism. We will look at the forms of LGBTQI inclusion and exclusion by the nation state and its dangers of participating in building a national imaginary.

The first discussion will be lead by Ewa Majewska will lead the first discussion and we will use Jasbir Puar’s Terrorist Assemblages:Homonationalism in Queer Times.
