Gościem Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej Zamek Ujazdowski będzie Anne Barlow, dyrektorka kornwalijskiego Tate St Ives. Spotkanie odbędzie się w ramach cyklu Curating Institutions, we współpracy z British Council, jako część programu Creativity Talks.
W swoim programie Anne Barlow łączy pracę nad kolekcją z kontekstem lokalnym i namysłem nad kondycją sztuki globalnej. Niebawem w Tate St Ives zostaną otwarte wystawy Otobong Nkangi oraz Mikhaila Karikisa.
Anne Barlow kieruje Tate St Ives od 2017 roku. Wcześniej przez ponad dekadę kierowała nowojorską Art In General oraz programem edukacyjnym w nowojorskim Nowym Muzeum. Kuratorowała wiele wystaw i projektów, m.in. Łotewski Pawilon na 55. Biennale w Wenecji czy wystawę Tactics for the Here and Now na Biennale w Bukareszcie. Barlow jest autorką, redaktorką i współredaktorką licznych publikacji, m.in. "What Now? The Politics of Listening" oraz "What Now? On Future Identities".
Projekt Curating Institution to program spotkań w formie dyskusji, wykładów lub seminariów. Do udziału w nim zapraszani są kuratorzy i dyrektorzy cenionych i ważnych zagranicznych instytucji sztuki współczesnej. W U–jazdowskim stwarzamy możliwość podzielenia się profesjonalną wiedzą praktyczną i teoretyczną z zakresu prowadzenia instytucji oraz programowania wystaw zarówno z profesjonalistami, jak i z publicznością.
Spotkanie z Anne Barlow odbywa się także w ramach prowadzonego przez British Council programu Creativity Talks, którego celem jest tworzenie nowych partnerstw w obszarze przemysłów twórczych między organizacjami z Polski i Wielkiej Brytanii.

A talk with Anne Barlow, director of Tate St Ives

The Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art has the pleasure to host Anne Barlow, director of the Cornish Tate St Ives. The meeting will take place within the frames of the series Curating Institution, in collaboration with the British Council as part of the program Creativity Talks.
In her program, Anne Barlow connects the collection with a local context and reflection on the condition of global art. The exhibitions of Otobong Nkanga and Mikhail Karikis will be opening shortly at Tate St Ives.
Anne Barlow has been directing Tate St Ives since 2017. Earlier, for over a decade, she managed the New York City non-profit contemporary art exhibition space Art In General as well as the educational programme at the New Museum in New York. She has curated many exhibitions and projects, including The Latvian Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale or the exhibition Tactics for the Here and Now at the Bucharest Biennale. Barlow is the author, editor as well as co-editor of numerous publications, including What now? The Politics of Listening and What Now? On Future Identities.
The project Curating Institution is a public programme based on talks, lectures, or seminars. Both curators as well as directors of valued and significant international contemporary art institutions have been invited. At U–jazdowski, we are creating the opportunity to share professional practical and theoretical knowledge in running institutions as well as programming exhibitions with both professionals and the public. The meeting with Anne Barlow also takes place as part of the Creativity Talks series led by the British Council, which aims to create new partnerships in creative industries, between organizations from Poland and Great Britain.
