Saturday ArtWalk Online: Videotapes. Early Video Art (1965–1976)
The exhibition "Videotapes. Early Video Art (1965–1976)" is about the first period of video art, when this form was not yet in the mainstream of artistic circulation and functioned primarily as an experiment that remained outside the area of interest of art institutions, market and distribution. This position allowed artists to create deeply personal, although often humorous, performances using the new technology. The exhibition documents their attempts at defining a whole new genre of art and shows the unbreakable links between art and technology.
