Otwierać czy nie otwierać? Odmrażać czy nie odmrażać? Głosować czy bojkotować?
Stoimy przed mnóstwem bezprecedensowych dylematów i ciągle zmieniamy zdanie. Męczy już nas płynność tej rzeczywistości i brak poczucia sprawczości. Co dalej? Jak działać i być odpowiedzialnym? I jeszcze mieć coś nowego do zaproponowania?
Jeden z pomysłów, który nam przyszedł do głowy, to wykorzystanie okna Curie City i urządzenie w nim cyklicznych wystaw „w oknie” na ruchliwą Tamkę - bez potrzeby otwierania galerii, z zachowaniem reguł social distancingu, ale jednak dając szansę na dialog artysty z odbiorcą w przestrzeni rzeczywistej.
Zaproponowaliśmy kilku artystom by w cyklu tygodniowym lub dwutygodniowym, w stylu bieda-fluksusowym, zechcieli wykleić nasze okna swoim pracami komentującymi Współczesność, lub jej Koniec, lub początek Nowego… Nie spodziewaliśmy się tak entuzjastycznej reakcji - wszyscy bardzo chętnie zgodzili się na uczestniczenie w projekcie Curie City w Oknie. Tak więc ruszamy w ten piątek, 8 maja o godz.18:00
Pierwszy artysta, którego gościmy, dzięki współpracy z Asymetrią, to Zbigniew Libera i jego fotografia Grill u Rotmistrza. Początek „otwarcia” - godz.18:00 na zewnątrz przed Curie City, Tamka 36.
Przychodzimy w maseczkach wyjściowych. Obecny Artysta, dostępna kawa, dezynfekatory, oraz performans-niespodzianka na otwarcie.

O pracy Grill u Rotmistrza pisze Łukasz Chotkowski:
„ W kompozycji zdjęcia widać kolejną zagładę, lub trwającą wciąż Zagładę. Przeczucie nieuchronnie nadchodzącego i powtórzonego. Gesty rąk, studziennego żurawia: pomiędzy objawionymi, faszystowskimi, ochronnymi. Napięcie w ciele Rotmistrza Łupaszki- zabijam i jestem dumny. Buta kościoła w figurze księdza. W tle obojętność gapiów.
Turystki z Azji znają dym, który widzą, jest pamięcią ich przodków. Jedna patrzy na niego z ekscytacją, druga odpala ze spokojem i seksualnym napięciem papierosa od wojen Azji.
Rechoczący mężczyzna podając jej ogień, trzyma w gościnnym geście palący się numer pisma "Dźwignia".
To zatrzymany kadr na chwilę przed śmiercią. Wszyscy za chwilę zginą. Oderwany od pracy nad rekonstrukcją zdjęcia Rotmistrza, fotograf wieszcz w czarnej szacie, widzi to. Jest w nim pogodzone przerażenie, napięcie, że staje się co ma się stać. A może jednak znowu im się uda i nieliczni przeżyją?”

To open or not to open? To unlock or not to unlock? To vote or to boycot?
We are facing unprecedented dilemmas and are constantly changing our minds. We are tired of the fluidity of our reality and the lack of a sense of agency. What’s next? How to act and be responsible? And still have something unique to say?
One of the ideas that came to us was to use the Curie City street window to organize cyclical exhibitions "in the window" on the busy Tamka Street- without the need to open the gallery, in accordance with the principles of social distancing, but still giving the artists a chance to dialogue with the public in a real physical space.
We’ve asked several artists whether – on a biweekly rotation, in a poverty-fluxus style – they would like to plaster our windows with their works commenting on the Present, or its End, or the beginning of the New ... We did not expect such an enthusiastic reaction; everyone gladly agreed to participate in the project “Curie City in the Window.” So we’re starting this Friday, May 8, at 18:00 (6 PM)
The first artist to exhibit, thanks to cooperation with Asymetry, is Zbigniew Libera and his photograph Grill at the Captain’s. The "opening" begins at 18:00 outside Curie City, Tamka Street 36.
We come wearing face masks; the artist will be present, coffee and disinfectants for your enjoyment and safety, and a surprise performance to launch the project.

About the work Grill at the Captain’s, the critic Łukasz Chotkowski writes:
"The composition of the photo shows a new extermination, or is it the Extermination still ongoing. A premonition of the inevitable coming and repeating itself; arm gestures, a symbolic well crane: the religious, the fascist, and the protective. Tension in the body of Captain Łupaszka says I kill and I am proud; arrogance in the figure of the priest; in the background the indifference of onlookers.
Tourists from Asia know that the smoke they see is the memory of their ancestors. One looks at him with excitement, the other lights a cigarette off the fire of Asian wars with calm and sexual innuendo. A snickering man giving her the light holds the burning number of the "Lever" magazine in a hospitable gesture.
This is a still frame just before death. Everyone is about to die. Detached from the work on the reconstruction of the Captain’s photo, the photographer-prophet in a black robe sees all. He embodies the terror and the anticipation of what is about to happen. Or maybe they will have a bit of luck again and a few will survive? "
