Do rozmowy zaprosiliśmy: Sebastiana Cichockiego – głównego kuratora Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie, Christiane Erharter – kuratorkę ds. publiczności z Belvedere 21. Muzuem Sztuki Współczesnej w Wiedniu, Pawła Łysaka, dyrektora Teatru Powszechnego w Warszawie i Christopha Platza z festiwalu steirischer herbst w Grazu.
Gospodarzami spotkania są Austriackie Forum Kultury w Warszawie i Instytut Kultury Miejskiej w Gdańsku. Spotkanie otwiera Rupert Weinmann, dyrektor Austriackiego Forum Kultury, a poprowadzi je Aleksandra Szymańska, dyrektorka Instytutu Kultury Miejskiej.
Wydarzenie rozpoczyna nowy cykl Austriackiego Forum Kultury w Warszawie pod tytułem Digital Future Talks, poświęcony tematyce wyzwań przyszłości i kultury cyfrowej, przygotowywany we współpracy z instytucjami partnerskimi w Austrii i w Polsce.

Future of cultural institutions – strategies, trends, plans

Digital Future Talks
The first event of a new event series
Due to the pandemic, we have found ourselves in a reality which is different than the one we were living in just a few months ago. Our new event series will open with a discussion between decision-makers representing important cultural institutions from Poland and Austria, who will talk about their strategies for the future.
Digital Future Talks
Future of cultural institutions – strategies, trends, plans
The pandemic is not over, and we do not know if it ever will be. We feel like we are part of a different reality than the one we were living in just a few months ago. Acting in a state of uncertainty has become the status quo. Support for and solidarity with culture are very much required nowadays, and yet we tend to focus on change, adaptation and new strategies rather than promotion and preservation of what already exists. We think about the future even though we do not know if our institutions will be open next week. We no longer consider whether it is better to organise online or live events. Both types of event need to be thought through based on a strategy and filled with content. They each offer different opportunities to meet the public.
We want to talk with decision-makers representing important cultural institutions of supra-regional significance in Poland and Vienna about their strategies for the future.
We have invited Sebastian Cichocki, Chief Curator of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Christiane Erharter, Community Outreach Curator at Belvedere 21. Museum of Contemporary Art, Paweł Łysak, director of Teatr Powszechny in Warsaw, and Christoph Platz, representing the steirischer herbst festival in Graz.
The event will be hosted by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw and the Institute of Urban Culture in Gdańsk. Rupert Weinmann, director of the Austrian Cultural Forum, will start by making some opening remarks. Aleksandra Szymańska, director of the Institute of Urban Culture, will then take over as moderator.
The event will open the new event series Digital Future Talks organised by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw. This event series will address issues related to future challenges and digital culture. It will be organised in cooperation with partner institutions from Austria and Poland.
