Działania w Zachęcie (Sala Multimedialna) oraz w naszej eksperymentalnej przestrzeni Curie City przy Tamce 36 to: faktofikcyjna instalacja przestrzenno-dźwiękowa, wywiady i rozmowy, pseudowarsztaty, pokazy filmów archiwalnych, wykłady i gesty performatywne oraz improwizowane premiery choreograficzne.

Warsaw Bauhaus collective, Zachęta National Gallery of Art and the CalArts Center for New Performance invite you to a series of events titled 🧠EUTOPIA: Black Mountain CollAge № OnE🧠. The SOS series is dedicated to the legacy of the American avant-garde Black Mountain College and to the "Theater Piece № 1" by John Cage and Others. The events will take place at the Zachęta National Gallery of Art (Multimedia Room) and the experimental art space Curie City at 36 Tamka St and will include: a facto-fictional space installation (CurieCity), interviews, pseudo-workshops, film screenings, performative actions and lectures, and an improvised choreographed premiere.

EUTOPIA: Black Mountain VideoCollAge: Art / Education / NonconFormism / Survival.., the screening of video collage and an open conversation about the American avant-garde educational experiment known as Black Mountain College.***
🟢This will be a presentation of video excerpts about Black Mountain College and about BMC’s Not/Known artists and creators. We hope that the open discussion interspersed with performative activities following the video presentation will create additional circumstances for the exchange of ideas about the context and work of such figures as Buckminster Fuller, John Cage, Suzi Gablik, M.C. Richards, Anne Duformantelle, John Dewey, Pierre Bourdieu, Janusz Korczak and others...
🟢Special guests will include Louise Steinman, writer and performer, Robert Rauschenberg Foundation grantee, Co-Director of the Los Angeles Institute for Humanities and Travis Preston, theatre and opera director, Dean of the CalArts School of Theater and Executive Artistic Director of the CalArts Center for New Performance, as well as Warsaw-based artists, curators and avant-garde researchers, including among others: Zbigniew Libera, Ewa Wiosna Małas-Libera, Bartosz Jakubowski, Edka Jarząb, Joanna Klass and unExpected Guests. The discussion will be held in English with joint translation into Polish.
🟢The programme includes Bartosz Jakubowski’s collective performative action "Manifesto of the Hearts".
In his projects, Bartosz Jakubowski modifies the course of past events, creating new contexts and endings. He uses photography, performance, sculpture and classic archival materials. The quasi-documentary nature of his works emphasises the need for creative creation of new worlds and utopias.
