💯 This event is a part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the Public Library in Mokotów.

We invite you to stroll along the beautiful streets of Mokotów! 🥰

Today, Mokotów is considered one of the most pleasant residential areas in Warsaw. Its numerous theatres, cinemas, restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlours make for a truly metropolitan life. Mokotów’s real treasure is its pre-war buildings, so precious in a Warsaw sorely afflicted by history. Along Aleja Niepodległości and its intersections you can admire elegant, modernist townhouses from the 1930s, an example of the inter-war luxury. Looking at Mokotów’s architecture, we will consider what influenced such a rapid and successful development of the district, incorporated into Warsaw just over a century ago.

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ During the walk:
- we will find out where the fashion for Mokotów came from,
- we will understand the importance of the Vistula escarpment for Mokotów,
- we will walk along apartment houses that embody pre-war modernity,
- we will see the buildings of the Warsaw School of Economics delighting in their modernist form!
- we will see where the Marshall Piłsudski district was planned - the largest unrealized investment of pre-war Warsaw,
- we will see where some of the members of the resistance lived during the WWII.

👌 Our guide will be 𝗣𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗿 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗹 from 𝗪𝗔𝗪𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽.
