[wydarzenie oraz poniższy opis wyłącznie w języku angielskim]

This concert in the capital city of Poland is the final leg in the “I Love my Life” EP promotion tour. The band saved the concert at Boogaloo till last – it is ‘on their own turf’ – the place where they started the EP promotion with band video interviews.
The Beat Rootz play their own brand of reggae – unlike anything you will have heard before. The rhythm section is home grown with ‘The Beard Man of Alcatraz’ on bass and ‘Tremolo’ of drums, keyboards and guitar from the ‘Traveller’ and ‘Fantastico’. They pulled ‘50 pence’ - a punky sax man from the UK and lead vocals come from even further afield. ‘Stefano’ is the big and energetic voice from Mauritius who has never failed to have the audience dancing!
Come to the Boogaloo bar on Saturday 19th September and enjoy yourself on the beach in Żoliborz – we promise we’ll do our best to make you feel like you are on the beach in Mauritius!

20:00-20:30 Hugo Marcel Acoustic man from Mauritius
20:30-21:30 The Beat Rootz
after with DJ Ras Junior

What connects Poland with the beautiful but distant Mauritius? The answer is simply – reggae music. Just another evidence that the genre originated from Jamaica can be universal. It made first class musicians from Mauritius, Poland and UK to perform together. Their first EP is out on 3-09-2020. The Beat Rootz was born in Warsaw in 2018 as a new project on the multicultural map of Poland’s capitol city. However, the people involved had already quite a lot of experience, playing many reggae or punk bands before. It was love that brought charismatic black singer Stefano Auguste „Rasta Nation” from Mauritius to Poland. He started jamming with Groove Baza band in Warsaw. The Rockas was another band, where he was a part of the vocal trio. They released self-titled album in 2016. Stefano brings a different perspective and shares a rich cultural heritage of his motherland. “In Mauritius we play Seggae. It was created in the 1980s by a singer called Kaya. Sega is Mauritian original music. He mixed it with reggae” – he explains. The Beat Rootz consists of the musicians with dozens of years of experience in playing reggae in Poland. A reference list of bands like Transmisja, Galago Band, Rocka’s Delight, Stage of Unity, Vibes’n’Power or The Bartenders means a lot to every Polish roots music fan. What has punk to do with The Beat Rootz? Great saxophone layers of sound are provided by Aidan Hoyle, “an Englishman in Poland”, known for his previous work with X-Ray Spex, the legendary London’s punk band of the 1970s. The Beat Rootz after some local shows in Poland recorded 4-tracks EP at the friendly KingsTone Studio with their man Radar at the control. Mix & master was given into hands & ears of the top Polish Studio As One, known for their quality work for a range of artists, from Warsaw Village Band to Zion Train. Out on 3-09-2020 in all streaming platforms and bandcamp.
