This time we are exploring Muranów, a very special place in town. It used to be inhabited by the largest Jewish community in Europe and second largest on the globe. Turned into a ghetto first, then into ashes and dust by the Nazis, it's been rebuilt by Communists in a totally new way. Backyards, corridors, squares, secret passages and quiet streets are now covered with amazing street art pieces. Most of them are in honour of great men like Marek Edelman, Janusz Korczak and Maria Curie-Skłodowska. Locals living there were involved by artists and NGO's to paint. Let's check them out! We will also visit the café run by the most influential NGO there, responsible for lots of murals, Stacja Muranów.
Historical and cultural context will be provided, profound to any extent you find interesting.
The tour will end at Jaś & Małgosia café and then you're welcome to join the guide visiting Nocny Market. Expect spray paint workshop there.
